Wine and Cheese Trails
It's a New York State of wineries, breweries, distilleries and meaderies, we have them all in Central New York. With more than 100 wineries in the Finger Lakes, it would take a week to visit them all, but you can take a day and visit one of the wine trails; the Keuka Lake Wine Trail, the Canandaigua Wine Trail, or our favorite, the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. The Finger Lakes is home to a new cheese trail to accompany all that wine. Or go north and try the Thousand Island Wine Trail. Pack the B&B with your friends and take a limo to the wine tastings ... we'll be happy to make you a reservation.
Did you know you can make your own wine ... a short drive away is Lakeland Winery. At this casual winery you will learn about wine making through the ages, be provided with several different wine to taste before selecting the wine you will make. Seven or eight weeks later, you'll come back to cork, bottle and label your wine to take home. Each batch makes 29 - 30 bottles of one style.
The Mansion is located on the Oneida River, approximately 5 miles from lock 23 and Oneida Lake. Large mouth and small mouth bass, walleye, tiger musky and northern pike are typical, Pan fish found in the river are black crappie, yellow perch, bluegill, white perch and brown bullhead. Other fish are channel catfish, carp and sheephead. A free boat launch is about 3 miles downriver and there is no charge for docking for guests staying at the Mansion. There is plenty of room for your boat trailer.
